Cemetery Conveniently Located in Outfield

If you find yourself paying respects at the Old Hog Mountain Church Cemetery in Dacula, don't forget to bring your baseball glove, as home runs have been known to ricochet among the tombstones. In the photo above, the home plate backstop can be seen to the right, and on the left, Hog Mountain Church's novel concept of using a graveyard in lieu of an outfield fence.

Pictured above is the view from the batter's box, with tombstones scattered among the outfield shadows. Those in the mood for a sandlot pickup game can find the field in the triangular space created by the confluence of Braselton Highway and Hog Mountain Church Road, though etiquette suggests that in the event of an outfield funeral, you follow Babe Ruth's example and call your shot to give mourners a chance to field their position.
