Excalibur Found in Chandler Lake

If you've been following our investigative series on the location of mythical Camelot, which we have conclusively proven is actually right in the heart of Lawrenceville, you'll know that we've been hot on the trail of legendary Excalibur. If you've not, click here before reading further. To stand any chance of obtaining the Arthurian blade, we first needed to determine the location of the Lady of the Lake.

We started by analyzing the names of various bodies of water near Lawrenceville, looking for a connection to anything Arthurian, and eventually our research led us to Tribble Mill Park, specifically Chandler Lake. According to the Online Etymology Dictionary, the origin of the word 'chandler' is as follows:

As you can see, Chandler Lake checks a lot of boxes. Its name dates back to at least the 13th century and it references candles, which feature prominently in the Arthurian mythos. Our more erudite followers will perhaps note that the fourth installment of T. H. White's famous version of the Arthur chronicles, The Once and Future King, is titled Candle in the Wind

But is Chandler Lake in fact the home of the Lady of the Lake? Legend states that whoever calls on the lady must be clad in knight's armor and pure of heart, but we don't have any armor, so we donned an old Knight Rider shirt and called it even.

With the Hoff on our side, we approached the placid loch free of trepidation, calling the Lady of the Lake's many names - Viviane, Ninianne, Nyneve, Nimue, and Coventina among them - across the calmly rippling waters. To our utter astonishment, the fair lady promptly emerged and planted the sword of destiny at our very feet, though she did refuse all requests for a photograph.

We were as stunned as you are, dear readers, perhaps more so. Even with the assistance of the Hoff himself, we certainly did not expect to actually wind up in possession of history's most coveted sword, though it does put us one step closer to obtaining the Holy Grail.

Seen above, the great blade of King Arthur, right here at DGHQ. Stay tuned, Gwinnetians, because we are Grail bound, and no earthly force will deter us with Excalibur at our side.
