Grave Matters: Pleasant Hill, Dacula

Today's Grave Matters column features Pleasant Hill, a wonderful mid-sized cemetery tucked in between Fence Road and Winder Highway. The entrance is on Fence, and the sign indicates that the graveyard is open for burials, though they do ask that you phone ahead before interring anyone.

Pleasant Hill offers many older graves and an interesting rock wall, likely 19th century, that wraps around much of the border. There is also a stretch of abandoned road next to the graveyard, beyond which you can see the abandoned Waffle House across the train tracks next to the Winder Highway/316 QT.

Below, a couple of benches next to the parking area. In the background are the abandoned road, with the abandoned Waffle House on the left of the bush, and QT on the right.

Seen above, the mysterious road to nowhere. It dead ends on either side of the cemetery. Dead ends, you get it?
