Elmo's Adventures in Garbage Land

Gwinnetians, this article would have been just another free mattress alert, but little did we know that a mattress on Lakes Parkway in Lawrenceville would lead us into a real-life version of the 1999 hit movie The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland.

Seen above, the mattress that began our adventure, with Elmo hanging out in the background. It's rare that we encounter A-list celebrities here in Lawrenceville, so we couldn't resist approaching the star muppet.

We admit we were more than a little star-struck, but we were completely unprepared for the dystopian wasteland that we found Elmo sojourning through, a land of garbage blanketing the forest floor along the banks of the Yellow River.

Despite the mountains of trash, we were unable to locate Oscar the Grouch, but as of this writing, the mattress is still available. We're not sure how long Elmo will be in the area, so if you want to stop by and say hey, the map below will lead you to Garbage Land.

  1. Where in the world did all that trash come from? There must not be any new houses going up there, but maybe the dump is the only place in Gwinnett not yet gentrified.

    1. I'm not sure where it all came from, but I drove by last week to check in and both Elmo and the mattress were gone.

Keep it classy, Gwinnett. This is not a political forum, nor is it place for intolerance or crude behavior of any sort. We are all in this together, so just enjoy the ride.
