Johnny's Pizza with a Side of Synchronicity

Merriam-Webster defines synchronicity as "the coincidental occurrence of events and especially psychic events (such as similar thoughts in widely separated persons or a mental image of an unexpected event before it happens) that seem related but are not explained by conventional mechanisms of causality".

It happens a lot here at the DG, and yesterday evening was no exception. After a long day at the office, we didn't feel like cooking and the kids wanted Johnny's for dinner, so we made the short drive to the Grayson location and ordered our standard large half-cheese/half-pepperoni.

While the pizza baked, we browsed IMDB and, on a whim, filtered movies by filming location, entering "Grayson Georgia". The first entry, The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars and Motor Kings, is an amazing baseball movie featuring Billy Dee Williams, James Earl Jones, and Richard Pryor, but it was filmed at Grayson Stadium in Savannah, not Grayson, Georgia.

The second movie, The Stalker, caught our eye, and imagine our surprise when we opened the production notes and found that one of the filming locations was ... Johnny's Pizza, the same one we were sitting in.

What are the odds? We pulled up the movie (not to be confused with Stalker, also released in 2020 but with a much bigger budget) and scrolled through it till Johnny's showed up.

There it was, the very window we were sitting in front of. What does it all mean? We aren't sure what the universe is trying to tell us with this latest episode of DG synchronicity, but The Stalker is streaming on amazon, and there's even a Stalker 2 if you enjoyed the first one.
