Even casual football fans are likely aware of Travis Hunter, the two-way threat and generational talent who won the 2024 Heisman trophy and who will almost certainly be a top-five 2025 NFL draft pick. Many Gwinnetians are probably aware that Travis Hunter honed his skills at Collins Hill High, but what they might not know is that he is definitely the most famous person who ever lived at Lawrenceville's Metro Extended Stay Hotel, formerly located at the intersection of 316 and Buford.
We here at DGHQ were also unaware of this information, until we stumbled across this snippet on Sports Illustrated:
Though Travis and the Metro Extended Stay's stories are intertwined, their story arcs could not be more disparate. While one has risen from obscurity to fame and fortune, the other has seen a steady decline into desolation.
Shown above, the Metro Extended Stay in 2008, back when times were good and there was a Waffle House in the parking lot. The times, they were a'changing though, and within a decade the Waffle House would become One Call Bail Bonds, a sure sign of the Metro Extended Stay's fall from grace.
Online reviews paint a chilling chronicle of the Metro Extended Stay's descent into madness:
By 2021, the writing was on the walls (and the internet), and the Metro Extended Stay's days were numbered. While former resident Travis Hunter was on his way to college stardom, the Metro Extended Stay and One Call Bail Bonds were on their way to the scrapyard.

Keep it classy, Gwinnett. This is not a political forum, nor is it place for intolerance or crude behavior of any sort. We are all in this together, so just enjoy the ride.
