Mulberry Liberation Front: Once More Unto the Breach

It is with heavy heart that we inform you, dear readers, that the Crusade for Mulberrian Independence has not been won yet. Longtime readers are no doubt aware that the MLF declared victory on May 22 (Mulberry Independence Day), but the fight is not over. As our friends at Fox 5 have reported, Gwinnett County resident Stephen Hughes has filed a lawsuit to prevent Mulberry from holding its inaugural elections this November. We caught up with The Man on The Street to see how he's handling this latest round of opposition.

"Sadly, this was to be expected," he said, swinging a Czech Hedgehog tank barrier into place at the Little Mulberry Park entrance. "In the battle for American Independence, the forces of freedom were beset on all sides by royalists still eager to lick the boots of despotism. As long as one MLF soldier has breath in his body, the fight will go on. No quarter asked, and none received."

At that point, he motioned toward a truck dropping off another load of tank traps, so we let him get back to fighting the good fight. As Albert Camus once said, "Where there is no hope, it is incumbent upon us to invent it." The Mulberry Liberation Front has already shown us that anyone can change the world; the flame of hope burns bright on Hog Mountain - may it never be extinguished.
