If you need gas and have a taste for architecture, you can knock out two birds with one stone at the Shell Food Mart on Atlanta Highway just outside of Loganville. Whereas most modern fueling establishments follow a bland corporate design with one largely indistinguishable from the next, the Shell Food Mart looks less like a gas station and more like a ramshackle spaceship that broke down and got converted into a gas station.
Inside, you'll marvel at the inexplicably vaulted ceiling. Our theory is it was probably the spaceship's cockpit. The floors are a gloriously erratic 1980s tile design that has been largely erased from history but is thankfully preserved here.
The Shell Food Mart offers a wide variety of wares at reasonable prices. We got a bag of off-brand sour gummy worms and a can of Coke for a cool $3.39. Adding to the ambience are multiple racks of adult-themed materials that taste and decency precluded us from documenting, as well as a robust video poker lounge.
If you find yourself travelling between Loganville and Snellville and are in the market for affordable gasoline, cheap snacks, a quick bit of gambling, some architectural sight-seeing ... whatever your desires, the Shell Food Mart can likely satisfy them.

Keep it classy, Gwinnett. This is not a political forum, nor is it place for intolerance or crude behavior of any sort. We are all in this together, so just enjoy the ride.
