Relleno Review: Cuernavaca

After swinging by the Lawrenceville Heath Center for some covid tests (positive again! perfect record, four for four!), I stopped in the nearby Cuernavaca on Grayson Highway to pick up dinner. Similar to La Cazuela, the chile relleno was not offered a la carte, so I picked combo number 6, which was a relleno, enchilada, rice, and beans for $11.14.

Unfortunately, that was the only similarity to La Cazuela, so I'm still chasing that high of the perfect chile relleno. The Cuernavaca offering was a slice of pepper with a bit of corn masa on top of a pile of ground beef and drowning in a pool of heavy red sauce that was much too tomatoey for my taste. This wasn't it, so the search for the next great relleno goes on.
